It was a Sunday late morning when we decided to visit the small park next to the Visitor Centre of the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Having not been there for several months, we went there looking for interesting insect species to photograph. They were no where to be found except for a few crickets which we were not particularly interested in. Still, a walk close to nature is always rejuvenating. More so because of the rain earlier in the morning. Here's our lovely experience:
The still, reflective waters of the Bukit Timah Quarry.
A healthy and shiny bracket fungus that thankfully was not plucked by inconsiderate visitors.
The near-perfect symmetry of a fern leaf.
A gecko camouflaged on the trunk of a tree.
Grass or bamboo?
Flowers of a jambu tree.
And finally, the best encounter of the day - A single stalk of Bat Lily standing undisturbed surrounded by large, graceful leaves by the side of the road leading up to the summit of Bukit Timah Hill.
